Sonora Amgen Stage Start Best 2012 Start So Far. ~By John Hamilton (Update...Just Added 22min of Video)
Posted by: John_Hamilton on 05/16/2012 03:10 PM
Sonora, CA...The local race organizing should be justifiably proud as we heard over and over again that this morning's race start drew the largest crowds so far for the 2012 Amgen Tour of California. Now in it's 8th year the tour continues to gain momentum in the cycling community and the public. We also overheard several times officials say that they will be back. That is the goal for events like this. It would be a huge boon for the area if we could promote Rope, Ride and Ribbitt every May. Today's Amgen Stage should be finishing any minute now in Clovis. The visit by the cyclists and their teams was brief but we hope it has a lasting impact on the local economy.
There are 195 Candid Shots from this morning. We also took quite a few video clips that are going up now. Some are enclosed already. Below is a short clip of the Peleton heading down Washington Street
