CHP San Andreas Area to assist Caltrans with Chain Controls on SR-4.
San Andreas, CA...The California Highway Patrol San Andreas Area will assist Caltrans with Chain Controls on SR-4 this Superbowl Weekend. “The CHP would like to remind everyone Chains are required to be carried in ALL vehicles in Chain Control Areas and the maximum speed in Chain Control Areas is 25 MPH.” Lt. Tim Port stated. “Chain Controls will be vigorously enforced. Tire Traction Devices do work; the law is there for a reason”..
There is another cold winter storm coming in this weekend to the Mother Lode and the location of Chain Controls and times will be based on current weather and roadway conditions.
